When people ask me what I do for a living I tell them:me-shadow

“I’m a photographer.”

But what I really want to say is:

“When I’m not getting paid to play with my camera, I show people how they can turn the best hobby ever (photography, naturally!) into a dream job.”

And what I really, really want to say is:

“I have the most ah-mazing job in the world! I wake up to cash in the bank, love letters in my inbox, and stay in my jammies until noon. I take extra-long breaks with my kiddos + I create online courses to help other people learn how they can build a dream business like mine too.”

If it has to do with photography + business,
I can help.

There’s A Science To This Thing.

I love to break things.

Break things down that is.
Into itty-bitty, totally doable steps that you can repeat over and over.

Maybe it’s the engineer in me. Test engineer, actually.
(Snooze-central, am I right?)

But — what I learned from my years as a test engineer in the Motor City
is that you can break just about anything down into repeatable steps.

Into a formula you can follow over and over.

And, that’s exactly what I do.

I take the big, icky parts about being in business

-the ones you probably didn’t even realize you were signing up for
when you decided to open up shop–

and break them down into simple, specific steps anyone can do.

Hi. I’m Heather.

Nice to meet you.

When I’m not behind my camera — or spilling all my business secrets — you’ll find me beachside with my husband and four growing girls, at church teaching my fave teens or learning to play the violin alongside our 8-year-old. (She’s much better at it than I am, btw.)

I was born and raised in the Great Lakes State of Michigan and am a wolverine all the way (Go Blue!). It’s here where my husband and I are raising our family.

I love sand in my toes, teaching, traveling and most of all helping people.

I’m so blessed to be able to encourage, guide and walk alongside over 13,000 photographers at a wide range of stages in their careers.

They’ve been known to call me friendly, helpful and a great communicator. (Which, btw, totally makes me blush.)
